#metoo

I know many of you will be shocked on reading this headline, but calm down, thankfully this me too is not that me too! 😜 .

If you are also a bit surprised  by the special comments of elders on your social media posts, then #metoo... if you are forced to stay in a family whatsapp group, which you just can't exit , then #metoo ... if your friends list on Facebook comprises of some forced friend requests, then #metoo.. even you have to think twice before posting something online coz people might judge you , then #metoo !! Are you even tagged in all posts, photographs and check ins , then #metoo!

Sometimes I think, a day will come when the elder members will conquer the entire social media.. The amount of time our parents spend on internet is far more than us.. they have their screens scrolling up n down almost the whole day.. they are updated with all the gossip and news !! They will send us all motivational forwards on whatsapp , the hindi gyaan and those fake videos, godddd... Someone please spare us from the horror!! The other day, my dad was asking me to help him about instagram and snapchat... i somehow managed to convince him that it's really silly, useless and a waste of time .. thankfully he is a bit conviced now but i am quite sure , il b getting a friend request from him on Insta pretty soon! Honestly, i am also quite active on social media and that's kinda my guilty pleasure too.. so now I understand how did it come in my genes!!

Talking about gadgets, the senior group doesn't want to feel left out there as well.. even if it's of not much use, they'll want to take the latest phones, fitbits , watches, airpods, go-pros and what not! I wonder if we were generation X, and our kids are gen Z, we will have to invent a new alphabet altogether for our parents now!! !

But if we think in a positive way, its really nice that our parents are able to cope up with this side of the world too.. Maybe they are trying to bridge the gap and come closer to our generation and the next one too.. honestly tell me, isn't it kinda interesting to read their comments in their peer groups!! I just love it, its so entertaining! 😂.. at least they're honest on this fake platform !!

And our kids, they are going to feel the same about us.. rather even worse . I am sure when they grow up, they will invent a technology such as an age barrier on their apps so that we don't intrude their privacy.. and who knows my girls will be writing about my social media faux pas someday!!

So all said and done, the social media and our elders are going to go hand in hand! No matter how annoying their acts on social media are , its cute at the same time! Anddd, they contribute to a major amount of likes and comments too! ;) .. so brace yourselves up and be ready to bear the shower of love and blessings from the generation COOL!!

P.s. after reading this, I am pretty sure going to get disowned from my folks , will be needing a place to stay by very soon !! Thanks in advance!

"ME" TIME!!

INDEPENDENCE!!

This word sounds so ordinary, like wats d big deal about it.. we are an independent country since 1947, we are educated, we are free to do whatever it feels like .. but ask this question to a mother of two kids or for that matter even a single child will do and you will realise its value ! For us , our whole life revolves around them.. you are dependent on their mood , their schedules all the time! I so wish to have my little own sweet quality time but just the thought of it makes my younger one realise that something is fishy, why is Mumma looking so relaxed and then,, bang! Something has to happen which will take away that moment of peace from me..

Of course you will have your responsibilities as a mother , a wife , a daughter in law , an individual which you will have to fulfil come what may and no one is asking you to run away from them. But what I feel is sometimes, you are so burdened with taking care of everything that you forget bout yourself.. you become so dependent on everyone’s routine and habits and responsibilities that eventually everyone becomes dependent on you !  So many times, you feel to leave everything behind and have a day off from the daily chores or go on a solo trip ( I know that’s too much to ask for ) but again , either it’s not feasible as you are bound by your duties and often you ain’t that bold . Somewhere deep down the corner of your heart , you will have the guilt pangs that how could you do this with your loved ones, how can you enjoy alone? Especially We girls are so emotionally dependent on everyone, as always it’s “tumhari khushi me meri khushi hai” .. I think it’s ok to be a bit selfish at times and do what makes you happy . Atleast we deserve it sometime! And we all love our kids to the core.. I mean you just can’t imagine your life without them or your family, but a little ME time won’t ever harm you..

People would say, ghar hi to sambhalna hai, what’s the big deal ? But believe me, it’s not simple either ! When I see my mother , I feel she has almost spent her whole life in taking care of everyone and everything! Often we are so busy in taking care of everyone, that we tend to forget that we need to take care of ourselves too! I think no matter how busy we are, atleast we can find half n hour for ourselves.. That ME time is so so important.. when you don’t need anyone , not even your spouse and definitely not kids .. be it Music, dance , reading a book, going for a walk or gym or whatever that comforts you!

But at the end of the day, no matter how much gyaan I pelofy, or become a feminist, we can’t be totally independent! Our life, mood , happiness, will depend on the people around us , which is pretty natural and rather that’s the way it should be, but we need to make sure that they don’t overpower our emotions and feelings! !

P.s. as I was jus about to finish the gyaan , and was to leave for a cuppa coffee with my friends, my lil 2 year old has reached the almirah and has spilled Fevicol all over the floor and herself!!! Arrgghhhh!!

A “quality"  time shall now be spent indeed! ðŸ˜“😓
